“Hung Tien-Yu’s (洪天宇) contributions were vital; displaying his environmental concern, his paintings were highly experimental and interpretive. He personally visited the endemic sites of Hydrangea chinensis and Taiwan Photinia³⁰ to create landscape drawings. He printed these works as banners to be shown at the exhibitions in France, breathing life directly into the sites where these plants had been transplanted.”
